I was born with a horse in my heart and a pencil in my hand. My Connecticut youth was spent drawing and dreaming and now at a not so young age I am still doing the same thing. While raising a family I managed to keep my art outlets going with the sales of limited paintings and many commissioned drawings. I studied at Green Mountain College after my children left home for their college experiences.
Over the years, lessons with Gunter Korus, Hale Johnson, Richard Schmid and others, proved to be helpful and inspiring. Leaving Middlebury, Vermont to live in Dorset, Vermont my life took a twist and I became employed at Tilting at Windmills Gallery, where I learned many aspects of the gallery business and a new avenue of art enjoyment began. As my paintings increased and sold, so increased my confidence to start a gallery in Saratoga primarily during the racing season in 1995. I rented 2000 sq ft at the Holiday Inn, brought in walls, pedestals and thirty artists varying in styles and mediums, but all pertaining primarily to the horse.
Terry Lindsey Equidae Gallery has stretched my creative talents to include sculpting bronzes and designing jewelry but never letting go of the pencil or paint brush. Sharing the love of art with artists, collectors and art lovers has nurtured my belief in the necessity of art being in our lives. What is next? Hopefully an illustrated book. The love of art never ends.Galleries:
